What is the best way to get started in Real Estate appraisal business.?

I have passed all requirements and am awaiting my wall card from the Georgia Appraisers Board. I want to work as an independant. I want to start off part time (afternoons and Saturday's). I am having problems finding a “Mentor” to work with and review all my work (required until I have 2500 hours experience). I hope towork this into full time one day. I have a strong construction background but no appraisel (of course) experience. Thanks in advance for any help.

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REALTOR AND REALTY IN A BUSINESS NAME?

I am new to Real Estate and just signed on with my broker just 2 days ago. I'm currently working on creating a new business email as well as a new website so that i may add the info onto my business cards which i have to get printed out asap.

I have selected a title/name for my website and email (ex:) Jane Doe Realty, yet im afraid it will (illegally) mislead or misrepresent my true position as a brand new agent. Unfortunately Jane Doe, Real Estate or anything similar to what I hoped for was not available (only Realty).

I dont want to misrepresent myself so before i publish my website, cards, email i want to make sure its not deceiving anyone and mainly that its not illegal to use the word Realty when I'm a single person/contractor and not a company, corporation, etc.

My concern is that the word Realty may (illegally) misrepresent myself as well as mislead prospects into thinking I am a large company when in fact i am a contractor new to the business.

Taking the illinois real estate sales person exam?

Can I self study for the exam – purchase books, exam prep books etc… and then take the test when I feel I am ready. Do I really have to take those $200-$300 online course in order to get the Uniform Real Estate Transcript so that I can book the exam.

You cannot book the exam WITHOUT having a Uniform Real Estate Transcript.

I want to self-study, pay for the books online, read, analyze and understand before I feel I am ready to take the exam.

Please advise. Serious answers only please.

Real estate license at Florida can use for buy and sell house that license can use for property management?

A property manager needs a sales or broker license if the compensation is paid by commission, and handling rentals and leases for others, not personally owned properties. There is not a “Property Manager” license or certificate. Also, certain rental properties need a license through the Div. of Hotels and Restaurants.

The answer to your question is yes your sales license is fine for a property manager in Florida.

Realtor gave key to pending buyer?

I'm in Washington state and a friend of mine is selling her house. She has hired a real estate agent and there is a sale and the closing is scheduled for October 30th.

I'm moving the rest of her stuff out for her and I've done a lot to fix the place up so that it will look better for potential buyers. I was in there earlier today and it is very obvious that the people who are going to buy the house have been in there and have started doing work, ripping out a piece of wood and laminate that is part of the bathtub.

They would have gotten a key from the realtor, that my friend has already had problems with, and I'm just wondering how legal this is.

I know that it's a liability for the home owner because if they get hurt while in there she'd be responsible, but what my question is, is it legal for a realtor to give keys to a home buyer before the closing on the house?

I appreciate any answers that I can get, thank you for your time.
